Mobile Management Info

Google has changed its Mobile Management/Device Policy to enforce a password on devices and keep our organization's data safe. With this change, users have been seeing the Device Policy Alert message
"Device Policy Alert - Your organization requires you to set a passcode on this device to access this account. Please set a passcode and try again."

Minimum Device Requirements

Android 2.2 Froyo and later with the latest version of the Google Play services app (Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and earlier devices need the Google Apps Device Policy app to enforce screen-lock requirements.) Apple® iOS® 8 and later with an iTunes® account and Safari® enabled (Earlier devices can sync corporate data, but screen-lock requirements are not enforced.)

Using your Device's Passcode Feature instead of Google's Passcode

Users can enable their device's screen lock or passcode if they do not want to use the mobile management option via the Gmail app. See below for the link (to guides) on how to turn on the screen lock or passcode option for your mobile device.
