Constant Contact Data Backup

Backing up files can protect against accidental loss of user data, database corruption, hardware failures, and even natural disasters. It is a best practice to have a plan in place to backup your data and follow that plan on a regular basis.

We are asking all chapters to be proactive and backup your subscriber lists in Constant Contact. The data in Constant Contact is secure (read their statement here: Security of My Data on Constant Contact Servers); however, it is always a good idea to have another way to access the data in case of an emergency.

Please take the time over the next few weeks to export your lists from Constant Contact and store them on a separate location. Ideally, this would be a secure cloud-based program like Dropbox or Google Drive. Dropbox allows for free storage up to 2 GB. Google Drive allows for free storage up to 30 GB.

Here is a how-to guide for exporting your data: Exporting a Contact List from Constant Contact

This does not remove any data from Constant Contact. It simply allows you to duplicate your records.

If you have any questions, you can contact Constant Contact’s Customer Support.
