Celebrating the Volunteers Who Make SCORE Possible
Through the Volunteer Appreciation Fund, chapters across the country found meaningful ways to recognize, engage, and celebrate the volunteers who power SCORE's mission every day.
From appreciation lunches and networking events to team-building gatherings and recognition celebrations, chapters used these funds to strengthen connections, foster collaboration, and thank volunteers for their dedication to helping entrepreneurs succeed.

SCORE West Michigan
Volunteer Appreciation Lunch
SCORE West Michigan brought volunteers together for a special appreciation event celebrating the people who help local entrepreneurs succeed. The chapter recognized top mentors Dan Butler, Terry Vogtmann, Ken Brune, Joe Mierendorf, and Peter Kushner, while also honoring Marnie Johnson as Builder of the Year.
Special thanks to Eric Wakeman and Mercantile Bank for hosting the gathering and supporting the chapter's volunteers.
SCORE Ventura County
District Chapter of the Year Award Brunch
Ventura County volunteers celebrated their Central California District Chapter of the Year Award with a brunch at Herb & Honey, a SCORE client business recognized for its Excellence in Business Adaptability. Through SCORE mentoring, the business successfully refinanced and consolidated debt into an SBA-backed loan, significantly improving cash flow and positioning the company for future growth.
The celebration brought chapter members together to recognize this milestone, connect with fellow volunteers, and celebrate the impact SCORE mentors have on local businesses. The chapter also hosted a luncheon for its Executive Committee to further recognize volunteer contributions and chapter success.
SCORE Kansas City
Annual BBQ Lunch
The Kansas City chapter gathered for its annual Volunteer Appreciation BBQ Lunch, bringing volunteers together for an afternoon of great food, conversation, and connection. Held at Westwood Park for the first time, the event provided an opportunity for volunteers to reconnect with longtime colleagues, welcome new members, and celebrate the relationships that make the chapter strong.
With delicious Jack Stack BBQ lunches and beautiful weather, the gathering was a memorable way to recognize and thank volunteers for their continued dedication to SCORE's mission.
SCORE Silicon Valley
Picnic In The Park
SCORE Silicon Valley brought volunteers together for a picnic in the park, creating an opportunity to relax, reconnect, and celebrate the people who make the chapter's impact possible. Set beneath the shade of towering trees, volunteers enjoyed food, conversation, and fellowship in a welcoming outdoor setting.
The gathering provided a chance for longtime volunteers to reconnect, new members to build relationships, and the chapter to strengthen the sense of community that supports its mission.
