Get Great Local Chapter Media Exposure with our Public Service Announcements

SCORE HQ has developed all-new professionally produced and compelling television and radio spots to build brand awareness, attract new clients and increase service requests. These public service announcements were distributed in October 2023 to radio and TV stations across the U.S.

You can encourage local use of these public service announcements by contacting your local television, radio and cable program and station managers. We have a draft email template available that you can customize with a personalized message about SCORE's work and impact in your community.

Professionally-produced Public Service Announcements

  • "Heart" - Find Your SCORE Mentor (English and Spanish)
  • Video and audio versions (Television and Radio)
  • 15, 30 and 60 second spots

How you can help

  1. Designate a PR Officer for your chapter. Identify someone in your chapter who will manage your local PR and media efforts and can take the lead on getting PSAs and other chapter updates in the local media.
  2. Create a media list to determine contacts at local radio and television stations (usually PSA Director, Show Producer, Community Affairs Director or Program Manager).
  3. Create talking points to localize your pitch. Draft a few talking points to quickly communicate why SCORE is important locally by helping small businesses start, grow and thrive. Use your Impact Sheets to be ready to share key facts and have examples of local success stories.
  4. Prepare SCORE Chapter Media Spokespersons. Many times, television and radio show producers prefer to speak with someone about promotional campaigns and their purpose. This is a great way to express the passion of SCORE displayed in these PSAs.
  5. Reach out to your media list to generate interest in using the SCORE PSAs at their station. You can send email, call the station contact directly or both. Be prepared! If you get a response you need to be ready to make your pitch quickly!
  6. Ask them for their preferences and confirm where to send downloadable content. English or Spanish? Audio (for radio) or video (for TV)? HD or SD for broadcast use? Spots are available in 15, 30 and 60 seconds.
  7. Follow Up! Send a short thank you email along with the downloadable PSAs as requested, and a reminder about how running them locally helps small businesses succeed with SCORE's free mentoring and resources. Include contact information for the chapter. Please cc: [email protected].

As always, our public relations team ([email protected]) is here to provide additional guidance as needed. Check out our other Public Relations Resources in the Support Center.

Thank you for helping to share the SCORE story in your local community!
