Mentor profiles appear on the website based on availability and pause settings. 

All active mentors must have a profile on SCORE.org. How and where profiles appear are based on availability settings (the mentoring request limit reached checkbox) and pause settings (the pause mentor assignments checkbox in Engage). These settings are adjustable in the Engage system. For instructions on how to adjust these settings, please refer to How to: Update Your Profile (Engage).

The table below outlines where profiles will appear on the website and the public-facing messaging on the profile. Please note that the "Availability = MRE" limits correspond to direct requests only at this time.

• Available for Mentoring
  1. Request Limit Reached box in Engage: Unchecked (this means you have not yet reached your weekly mentoring request limit).
  2. Pause Mentor Assignments box in Engage: Unchecked (this means you are not paused from receiving mentoring requests).
  3. SCORE.org Profile Visibility: Your mentor profile will be displayed in the mentor search, the "Meet Our Mentors" block on state and chapter web pages, and in the website search if someone searches for you by name.
  4. The call-to-action button on your mentor profile will say "Request This Mentor".
• Not Available for Mentoring - Reached Your Mentoring Request Limit
  1. Request Limit Reached box in Engage: Checked. This means you have reached your mentoring request limit for the week. Your limit will reset on Sunday.
  2. Pause Mentor Assignments box in Engage: Unchecked (this means you are not paused from receiving mentoring requests).
  3. SCORE.org Profile Visibility: Your mentor profile will only be displayed in the website search if someone searches for you by name. It may also appear on success stories if you are listed as the client's mentor or on workshops if you were the presenter. Your profile will not appear in the areas of the website that clients normally visit when searching for a mentor.
  4. The message and buttons on your mentor profile will say "We will do our best to match you with this mentor (depending upon their schedule) or another similarly experienced mentor." There will be additional buttons and links that say "Request a Mentor" - If the client clicks this button, they will submit a mentoring request to your chapter and the CIC can assign it to another mentor. There is also a button to Browse Similar Mentors. This button will display other mentors with similar areas of expertise or industries. The client can also click the link to Browse All Mentors which will return them to the mentor search.

  1. Request Limit Reached box in Engage: Unchecked.
