SCORE Mentoring Handbook

The SCORE Mentoring Handbook is a comprehensive resource for SCORE mentors. It provides new and existing SCORE mentors with the latest guidance on serving our clients and describes how to provide clients with the information they need to make sound business decisions.

How to Use

The SCORE Mentoring Handbook is well-indexed to help you find the mentoring guidance you need when you need it. The handbook should be your-go-to resource when you need a refresher on mentoring good practices, such as how to conduct your first session, SLATE, how to enter strong session notes, or co-mentoring good practices. Additionally, numerous resources are linked to this document, such as Engage guidance and SCORE policy related to various mentoring scenarios.

The Handbook is available as a Google doc (you must use your scorevolunteer.org email address to access this document) and a downloadable PDF.

Mentoring Handbook GPT

This GPT was created as a tool to search the Mentoring Handbook with ease and clarity. Thank you to Charlie Morris, Co-Chair of Bucks County, for developing this helpful tool!

Credit and Contributors

This updated handbook results from the dedication and expertise of an incredible team of contributors. The Mentor Methodology Task Force, consisting of volunteers from across the country and SCORE staff, began this project in July 2024.

Feedback is welcome!
