Title: Associate District Director

Summary of Position: 

The Associate District Director/s (ADDs) is/are key Volunteer Leaders, serving as a successor to the District Director (DD). The ADD supports the DD in providing leadership and implementing tactical objectives identified in the District’s Annual Operating Plan.  These roles work closely with the District Director to ensure effective communication, operational excellence, and alignment with SCORE's overall mission and strategy. Together they help manage the various aspects of District operations and provide input to the DD on higher-level leadership, mentoring, and strategic planning.  This position is appointed in collaboration with the District Director, Regional Vice President and Vice President of Field Operations. 

 

 

Key Responsibilities:  

 

Leadership and Mentoring 

●  Support the DD in building trust through inclusive environments that encourage integrity and competence.

●  Assist in connecting with the team, empowering and trusting volunteers.

●  Learn and assist with growth initiatives and connecting chapters with SCORE resources.

●  Support the DD in providing guidance and resources to chapters to achieve their business plans and performance goals.

●  Assist in identifying future leaders and providing succession planning guidance.

●  Help recognize, celebrate, and reward chapter and mentor efforts.

 

 

Communicator 

●  Embrace and communicate SCORE's mission, vision, and goals.

●  Support effective communication among chapters and with the district office.

●  Help encourage regular sharing, feedback, and innovation through outreach and communication.

●  Engage with leaders and volunteers in the district through calls or in-person visits with chapters.

●  Help develop relationships with the SBA, business organizations, community organizations, and local media to heighten awareness of SCORE.

●  Reinforce SCORE Core Values and quality standards.

 

 

Financial & Operational Stewardship 

●  Support the implementation of strategies from the SCORE Strategic Plan.

●  Assist in conducting annual SCORE On-Site Reviews of chapters.

●  Help monitor and review chapter performance with chapter leaders.

●  Assist in managing the budget and supporting chapter Annual Operational Plans.

●  Learn the full range of duties of the DD to act in their absence, both within the District and the national organization.

●  Be prepared to assume the position of District Director if appointed, ensuring a smooth leadership transition.
